Issued: September 8, 2010

Detroit Archbishop Allen H. Vigneron will join with other religious leaders of Metro Detroit for an interfaith prayer service from 4 to 5 p.m. on Sept. 10 at Second Ebenezer Church, 14601 Dequindre Avenue in Detroit. The religious leaders will conduct a prayer for world peace at the gathering. Representatives of the Muslim faith also will attend, and participation from the Jewish community and other Christian denominations has been invited.

People of all faiths are welcome to attend the prayer service, which comes as many around the country prepare to mark the ninth anniversary of the Sept. 11, 2001, terrorist attacks in New York, Washington, D.C., and Pennsylvania.

The service is being hosted by Bishop Edgar Vann, pastor of Second Ebenezer Church. The church is situated just off of East McNichols Road, which is exit 57 off of the I-75 expressway.
