John Shada Award

This award is named in honor of one of the Catholic High School League’s outstanding football coaches, John Shada. Originally presented to an offensive and defensive player in each division it was changed in 1980 to the top Scholar-Athlete football player in Catholic High School League.

This award is given annually to the male student-athlete who demonstrated exceptional achievement in the areas of Academics, Leadership, Community Service, and Athletics while competing on a varsity football.
