2025 CHSL Boys Soccer Season Preview- Catholic High School League

2025 CHSL Boys Soccer Season Preview

Aug 13, 2025

The 2025 Catholic High School League boys soccer season is set to kick off with plenty of anticipation after an exciting 2024 campaign that saw memorable runs from several programs.

Last year, St. Francis de Sales claimed the Central Division title and carried that momentum into the postseason, capturing the Bishop Championship with a hard-fought victory over AA Division champion Lutheran North. The Knights return a strong core, including All-Catholic selections Armando Ayala, Ben Baker, Josh Brennan, and Jacob Hoffman, as they aim to defend both their division and league crowns.

In the Cardinal Division, Cristo Rey shined, winning the Intersectional 2 Division and going on to secure the CHSL Cardinal Championship with a 2-0 victory over Shrine. The Wolves feature a dangerous mix of experience and youth, led by All-Catholic honorees Omar Franco, Santiago Franco, Luis Mendoza, and Diego Vargas.

With returning standouts across the league — including Lutheran North’s Stavio Damon, Will Pruzinsky, and Jayce Van Hevel, Shrine’s Adam Imai, Josh Mackey, and Caesar Soma, and University Liggett’s Oliver Cooley, Robert Harthorn, and Caden Martin — every division race should be competitive from start to finish.
