2025 CHSL Field Hockey Season Preview
The Catholic High School League field hockey season is set to begin with high expectations following an exciting 2024 campaign. Last fall, University Liggett captured the Bishop Championship, showcasing their depth and talent, while Fr. Gabriel Richard claimed the Cardinal Championship behind strong senior leadership and a disciplined defense.
This year, Fr. Gabriel Richard moves into the Central Division and will compete in the Bishop Championship tournament, adding another layer of intrigue to the league’s top division. The Irish return several All-League and All-Catholic honorees, including Jillian Dosch, Brynn McFarlane, Bell Hollenshead, Caroline Kinsherf, and Lilli Vera, making them a serious contender in their new bracket.
University Liggett looks to defend its Bishop title with standouts such as Aliya Abraham, Elizabeth Dickey, Ally Orlick, Maisy Huebner, and Olivia Marcero leading the way. Several other programs are poised to challenge, including Cranbrook Kingswood with Sophia Baldwin, Sydney Korth, and Kendall Pankopf, as well as Academy of the Sacred Heart with Clare DePorre, Presley Krywko, and Madeline Lichwalla. Marian, returning talents like Lily Robinson, Julia Rogers, and Maddie Najor, is also expected to be in the hunt.
With Fr. Gabriel Richard’s move up, the AA division and Cardinal Championship race are wide open. St. Catherine of Siena returns top players such as Caitlin Griffin, Stephanie Lisch, and Isabel Thomas, while Greenhills boasts standouts like Margherite Overlander, Meera Pandey, and Emi Song. Both teams will be looking to seize the opportunity to claim the title. Other contenders, including Regina and Mercy, also bring back strong rosters capable of making a postseason run.
With the defending champions reloading, a powerhouse joining the top division, and a wealth of talent spread across the league, the 2025 CHSL field hockey season promises intense competition and memorable moments from opening whistle to championship day.
