Baseball Championships
The Catholic High School League baseball season reaches its final chapter today as teams battle for championships at Corner Ballpark in a day that will celebrate excellence both on and off the field.
The action begins at 2 p.m. with the Cardinal Championship as Lumen Christi Catholic School takes on Divine Child High School in a matchup featuring two of the league’s premier programs competing for the CHSL title.
Before the evening championship game, the Catholic High School League and the Archdiocese of Detroit will honor several outstanding members of the Catholic school community during a special presentation ceremony beginning at 5:30 p.m. The ceremony will recognize Archdiocese of Detroit Catholic school educators who are retiring this year, teachers selected as their school’s Teacher of the Year, the overall Archdiocese of Detroit Bishop John Quinn Teacher of the Year recipients at both the elementary and high school levels, CHSL Baseball Honor Team selections, and the Bazy Athlete of the Year honorees.
Following the presentations, the Ste. Anne Championship will take center stage at 6 p.m. as Cabrini High School faces Cranbrook Kingswood Schools for the league championship.
Fans are encouraged to come out and celebrate a full day of Catholic League baseball, student-athlete achievement, and the educators who continue to make a lasting impact throughout the Archdiocese of Detroit.
Admission is $10 cash at the gate.
