Boys Lacrosse Preview

The spring sports season is underway, and once again CHSL boys lacrosse promises to feature some of the most competitive and high-level play in Michigan. The Catholic High School League has long been a strong contributor to the growth of lacrosse in the state, producing elite teams and players who regularly compete for league and state championships.

Strong Tradition of Lacrosse in the CHSL

The CHSL continues to showcase outstanding lacrosse programs across southeast Michigan. Several league teams consistently rank among the best in the state, and many athletes go on to compete at the collegiate level. Each spring culminates with the CHSL Boys Lacrosse Championships, where the league crowns champions in both the Bishop Division and the Cardinal Division.

These championship games often feature some of the league’s most storied programs and rivalries, providing fans with high-level competition and memorable moments.

Central Division Outlook

The Bishop Division traditionally features some of the premier programs in Michigan lacrosse. Schools such as Brother Rice and Detroit Catholic Central have established themselves as perennial contenders, and their matchups often serve as highlights of the CHSL season. In recent years, these programs have also competed deep into the MHSAA Division 1 postseason, demonstrating the strength of the league at the state level.
