100 Greatest Male & 100 Greatest Female Athletes in CHSL History

As the Catholic High School League proudly reflects on a century of competition, tradition, and excellence, we invite our community to help recognize the athletes who have defined CHSL athletics across generations.

The CHSL is now accepting nominations for the 100 Greatest Male Athletes and 100 Greatest Female Athletes in league history. These honorees will represent the very best of CHSL athletics—competitors whose talent, leadership, achievements, and legacy left a lasting impact on their schools, their sports, and the Catholic High School League.

We encourage alumni, coaches, athletic directors, school administrators, media members, and fans to submit nominations.

Nomination Guidelines

Each nomination should include the following information, when available:

  • Athlete’s full name

  • High school attended

  • Graduation year

  • College(s) attended

  • Professional career (if applicable)

  • Overall athletic achievements

    • CHSL accomplishments

    • State, regional, or national honors

    • Records, championships, awards, and notable recognitions

Athletes from all eras and all sports are eligible, and nominees do not need to have competed at the collegiate or professional level to be considered.

How to Submit

Nominations should be emailed to chsl. Please include as much detail as possible to assist the selection committee in its review.

This historic recognition is part of the CHSL’s ongoing celebration of 100 years of faith, competition, and excellence. Your participation will help ensure that the league’s rich athletic legacy is preserved and honored for future generations.

We look forward to celebrating the athletes who helped shape the proud history of the Catholic High School League.

Rewrite it and include that this is preparation for the upcoming CHSL 100-year celebration next school year, 2026-27. The announcement of the 100 greatest athletes will be done as part of the overall celebration next year.

As the Catholic High School League prepares for its 100-year celebration during the 2026–27 school year, we invite our community to help honor the athletes who have shaped a century of CHSL competition, excellence, and tradition.

In preparation for this historic milestone, the CHSL is now accepting nominations for the 100 Greatest Male Athletes and 100 Greatest Female Athletes in league history. These selections will recognize individuals whose athletic accomplishments, leadership, and legacy left a lasting impact on their schools, their sports, and the Catholic High School League.

The official announcement of the 100 Greatest Athletes will be made as part of the CHSL 100-Year Celebration during the 2026–27 school year.

We encourage alumni, coaches, athletic directors, school administrators, media members, and supporters of CHSL athletics to participate in the nomination process.

    • CHSL accomplishments

    • State, regional, or national honors

Athletes from all eras and all CHSL-sponsored sports are eligible for consideration. Nominees are not required to have competed at the professional level.

This once-in-a-century recognition will celebrate the extraordinary athletes who helped build the proud tradition of the Catholic High School League. Your nominations will play a vital role in honoring CHSL’s past while celebrating its future.
