Girls Lacrosse Season Preview
The 2026 Catholic High School League girls lacrosse season is set to begin as teams across the league prepare for another spring filled with competitive play and championship aspirations. Programs throughout the CHSL continue to build strong traditions in girls lacrosse, and the upcoming season promises exciting matchups as teams compete for Bishop and Cardinal championships later this spring.
The Bishop Championship once again features several of the league’s most established programs. Cranbrook Kingswood, Marian, and Mercy have consistently been among the top teams in the CHSL and across the state of Michigan. Each program returns experienced players and strong coaching leadership, which should make the race for the Bishop championship highly competitive throughout the season.
The Cardinal Championship continues to grow in both depth and competitiveness. Academy of the Sacred Heart, Father Gabriel Richard, and University Liggett have been key contenders in recent seasons and are expected to again challenge for the division title. Several programs in the division continue to develop younger players and strengthen their rosters, setting the stage for an exciting and unpredictable season.
As the season progresses, teams will compete for positioning in the CHSL playoffs. With returning talent, emerging young players, and proud programs throughout the league, the 2026 CHSL girls lacrosse season promises to showcase the continued growth of the sport within the Catholic High School League.
