Today, the Catholic High School League pauses from the field, the court, and the track to honor someone who has been there through every game, every practice, every early morning and late night — Dad.
Whether you've been the coach in the driveway, the loudest voice in the bleachers, the driver of the carpool, or simply the steady presence behind everything your child has achieved, your role matters more than any scoreboard can measure. Fathers and grandfathers are among the first coaches our student-athletes ever have — and often the most important ones.
On this special day, we offer this prayer for all the fathers and grandfathers in the CHSL family:
"Through the intercession of St. Joseph, patron of fathers, bless all fathers and grandfathers as they care for their families. Give them wisdom, tenderness, and patience. May they mirror St. Joseph's quiet strength, devotion, and loving care of the Holy Family, always leading their family closer to Christ."
